Making Science Fun — One Experiment at a Time

Experi-Buddies is an interactive, extra-mural programme that turns science into an adventure for young minds. Through hands-on projects, exciting demonstrations, and simple experiments, they show children that the world of science is colourful, surprising, and full of wonder.

THE HYPOTHESIS


Prove that science can be both educational and exciting. The imagery needed to be:


Clean – plenty of space for copy and marketing text.


Timeless – relevant for years to come.


Colourful – bursting with energy and visual pop.


Representative – reflecting South Africa’s diversity.


Real – authentic reactions from actual experiments.


Some shots also needed to feature the teacher, weaving in a sense of guidance and connection. And every image had to work across multiple media — from websites to banners to brochures.

THE EXPERIMENT

Scientific experiments with colorful liquids and multiple beakers in a bright laboratory setting.

Planning was everything.

We cast two groups of real programme participants — younger children for the morning session, older ones in the afternoon. A wedding venue was transformed into a “lab” with white walls and décor, giving a clean, high-key backdrop for vibrant chemicals and expressions to shine.


Actual experiments were conducted in every setup — from fizzing reactions to bursts of colour — so that every smile, gasp, and moment of amazement was authentic. High-key lighting kept the look consistent, bright, and versatile for future marketing needs.
